Getting It Right
What does "galvanised" mean and why does it matter?
Galvanised steel has a zinc coating that protects it from rust, which matters in Sri Lanka's humid and coastal air. Cut ends and welds should be treated after fabrication to keep that protection.
Which wall thickness do I need?
Thicker walls carry more load and last longer, but cost more and weigh more. For structural work such as trusses, follow your engineer's drawings. For gates and handrails, we can suggest common sizes.
Square or round tube for a gate?
Square tube is easier to cut, join and weld neatly, so most gates and grilles use it. Round pipe is often chosen for handrails because it is comfortable to grip.
Structural sizes must follow your engineer's design. We can price directly from your drawings or cutting list.
